Muhammad Speaks is a short reportage film that records a rally at
Speakers Corner (London), held by the British wing of The Nation
of Islam.
Surrounded by uniformed supporters, Muhammad
addresses the gathering crowd on the eve of the invasion of Iraq
by American and British troops. With a powerful voice and energetic
charisma, Muhammad delivers his message that moves from irony, empathy
and passion, to wild paranoia, hate and Jewish conspiracy theories.
Muhammad Speaks is one of a series of short
films being developed around the way the theatre of public performance
is used to exercise free speech.
